This funding was half of the budget for our 2025 Playwright Festival, where we will bring Guggenheim Fellow Jen Silverman and Richard Rogers award winner Mike Lew to Portland to develop home-grown, commissioned plays, and to work with local trans, non-binary, and AANHPI writers.
The termination of this funding was a message from this administration. "Fall in line, or we will burn it all down" they say. We refuse.
Without this funding, this project cannot go on. We now turn to you to support your community, culture, and the arts in Portland.
